Description

You’ve done the work. You’ve delivered the results. Checked every box.
So why does the promotion still go to someone else?
Because merit isn’t the only driver of advancement.

McKinsey’s 2023 report reveals that women are 18% less likely than men to be promoted to manager—and this gap widens at every level. It's not just a pipeline problem. It’s a presence problem.

In sports business, technical skills and hard work are essential—but without executive presence, even the most qualified professionals can be overlooked.

This conversation explores how your demeanor, communication style and ability to command attention directly impact your career trajectory. Dr. Hewlett’s research reveals how women can leverage their strengths and build executive presence to ensure merit translates into meaningful career success.

All registered attendees receive a copy of Dr. Hewlett's latest book, Executive Presence 2.0: Leadership in an Age of Inclusion.

Things To Note

Questions About The Chapter Event: Contact the chapter directly at the email address listed on the registration page. Please allow up to two business days for your message to be received. During peak event registration periods, volunteers monitor the chapter’s email inbox more closely, but please be advised that immediate responses may not be possible.

Event Confirmation Emails: Confirmation emails are automatically sent upon the completion of the registration process. If the event indicates that a virtual link or more event information will be shared at a later date, please refer to the event registration details for timing to receive those correspondences. Please be sure that you check your junk/spam folders for confirmation emails. Add our domain to your inbox to decrease the likelihood of not receiving confirmation emails.

Refund Policy: All event tickets are non-refundable. Please note that canceling your registration via the ticketing system does not initiate a refund/credit. There are upfront costs and financial commitments associated with the event that make it impractical to offer refunds. We recognize that there may be extenuating circumstances, such as a natural disaster, or other unforeseen event that would prevent participation. In those rare occasions, the chapter may, at its sole discretion, consider a goodwill gesture to this policy.

Nonmembers: You'll see a blue box on the right side of the page that says "Registration." Non-members must create a free account to log in and purchase an event ticket.

Please note: Creating an account is not the same as becoming a member. However, the system requires you to have an account in order to register for events. This option is only available for public events, with member and non-member rates as indicated in the event description.

Members: Make sure you are logged in and click on the RSVP button in the right column beneath the event image. If you need to join or renew, please do so as soon as possible. The system takes about 30 minutes to update before you can register for this event. If you do not see the RSVP button on this page, please log out and then log back in. NOTE: If you are signed in and do not see the RSVP button beneath the event image, your membership may have expired. When logged in, your membership expiration date appears at the top of the page. If a membership expiration date is not visible or if you do not see the RSVP button, please contact the national office for assistance - not the chapter (the chapter cannot resolve technical issues with your membership profile) .

If you are experiencing issues with renewing/joining, please contact the national office. A member of the WISE national office will assist you.
